Default Monday afternoon bear scouting

Took off after lunch since I had to get rid of some overtime from Saturday, and told the wife that I was going and to not look for me before 5. I took the
camelbak
, some tools and of course a couple of MSR bottles with extra gas. Here is the track, and it was interesting to say the least. I also thought it would be a good day to do some bear reconnaissance.

I got out there to check on my
Geocache
since it had been like 5 months since I was there last.

I'm refraining from using smileys because they also count as images and you can only have 20 per post. Bummer huh.
LOL

Found another cool spot for camping, dead end and lots of grass.

Then it hit me after I saw this, that I forgot my gun...I do that all the time....Hello that's one of the reasons I bought the gun was to have with me out there in the woods.

I went down a half dozen roads like this, each one getting deeper and darker, and me again thinking about why didn't I bring my gun. Dee Dee Dee

Ok I'll be back in a few minutes "the rest of the story"

You ever get one of those feelings that someone or something is watching you. Yea me too... I was rounding a corner and then I saw the biggest bear ever! For real, of course he was running away so I couldn't get the Blackberry out fast enough, but I did get one of what my face looked like.

then a couple more miles down the road, I came across this. It was so fresh that the flies hadn't even found it yet.

I was so excited that I hit the front brake and nearly dumped the bike as you can see in this skid mark. That's from the front tire!

I got off the bike to take another picture with something for reference.

So from there I headed back out to see where these roads would take me.

Choices...choices. That's the great thing about the GPS, you can try and get lost but its nearly impossible.

Some of these roads went on and on, cool places.

Back home I discovered that my pelican box was all twisted, turns out that the front clamp broke. So it was a quick trip to the store (on the KLX of course) to pick up a new one.

First time the box has been off in 3 years. Not bad considering how bumpy the gravel roads are around here.

Of course a wash was in order then I installed the case and its all back to normal.

One final shot from the bedroom window as I am writing this. LOL

Looks like fun Deej, glad to see ya getting out. Ya do know a can of Griz Pepper spray is way better than a weapon .... right?

Keep up the reports and pics ..... you need a riding bud....but I ride alone a LOT too.

Beautiful riding, thanks for showing the pics.

Answers the question - 'Does a bear sheet in the woods?'

I bet I would have stepped in that.

Nice report Deej! Good thing the bear was running away and not right at you!
How's that saying go?...sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you....?
