Default Mods that won't void the warranty?

Forgive a total new guy to bikes completely. I'm used to modding PC's beyond manufacturers specs to run even faster.

What is available on the 2009 klx250s that is easily reversible? I paid for the extended warranty and I don't want to really screw things up big time. I thought the airbox lid thing seemed simple enough, but you have to rejet.

What about just a slip on exhaust? How could that affect the warranty really? Any issues just slap on the stock and you're good to go. I'd assume....but it's never safe to assume is it?

you can rejet and put a slip-on on and you'll be ok.. go ahead and take of the emissions stuff too that's not a problem either. what else do you want to do?

That sounds like a good start. If you put the stock muffler on again do you have to rejet? Or if it's just for "inspection" purposes would it be better to just leave the jetting as it was set up for the Muzzy or whatever?

I mean a slip-on requires rejetting, and if I'm doing that, might as well do the airbox cover right? All that voids the warranty, but I'm just trying to not waste my money on it. How much of a drop in MPG can I expect. I weight 200lbs, probably 210 with all my gear.

I guess the first thing I'm considering is putting street tires on. I saw someone just bought 18 and 21 inch tires and swapped those out. It's a lot cheaper than buying a whole new wheelset. I love the 17 inch wheel look though. Are there any other wheel combo sizes for 'tarding this thing out? Or is 17 and 17 been determined to be the best ratio of wheel sizes?

I've got a suspension question too, but I'll save it for now...

Yeah je2000, Im going to put a set of street tires on mine also, when these are worn out. Your local Kaw dealer should be able to suggest some nice tires for you, mine did.

I drilled two 1/2" holes under the air snorkle...Tightened up the slack in the throttle a bit..Dremmeled down the stopper for full throttle...Ground it down maybe 1/16"...Seems to drive ok...Ill know Sunday on the way to work..Oh tightened the chain....Something I always say Im gonna do...lol

Not to change the subject of the thread.... but there's a stop on the grip preventing WOT? I honestly never looked, I guess I'll be playing Inspector Cobb in the morning.

Oops Sorry

Not on the grip but on the passenger side of the carb...Next to the vent hose and cable pulley system....I could tell a difference today while in 6th gear....Gives ya that little extra..I think.I also drilled 2 holes in my air box...Nice....Probably could grind an 1/8" off Im guessin on the stopper...Im gonna go in 32nds until I find the limit.....

Just a dumb guess...

But maybe the stopper is on the carb to prevent us from doing 100 mph...I had mine today at 83mph and around 8k rpms in 5th...The new exhaust is throwing off my ears..I shifted into 6th but backed off....I bet I could have gotten 95mph and a body fill of gravel and broken limbs...But I thought better...

Sorry not tryin to Hijack

Two drill holes under the snorkle cant be seen...Free mod...Probably wouldnt void warranty.....

And grinding down the stopper thingy....Nobody would ever notice if done cleanly...

Also sorry about the extra post....Ive lost too many lately if they get to long..\
