Due to mfg differences etc, the fuel screw will be adjusted by the factory to make that combination run. What we need to do is go with a "add one turn out to your fuel screw" type of recommendation.

If I may suggest, it would be helpful to record where your fuel screw was when you started. I remember some large differences. If your bike was at 1 1/2 turns when you started and you went the standared 2 1/2 turns, you only netted a 1 turn change. My screw was only out about a 1/4 turn. To go to 2 1/2 woudl be a huge 2 1/4 turn change. BTW, this is why my bike ran so rich. I remedied it temporarily by removing the airbox lid. What a differnce! The extra fuel was there already and BANG!

Its true that 2 machines could have the same modifications done, but still run differently, and therefore need different fine tuning.
I'll update the form so people can add that information, but for now, put it into the speadsheet as a comment. If enough people can recall that info, I could add it into the cell to be more visible.
Thanks for the suggestion!

RE: Mods & Jets
Configuration:
Bike / Rider - '06 US model KLX250S / Joe (aka Cowboy 6)
Elevation - 500 ft
Date - 30 AUG 2006 (4 SEP 2006 removed air box cover completely)
Intake:
Airbox - KDX200 snorkle (4 SEP 2006 removed air box cover completely)
Filter - OEM ( Uni on order)
Exhaust:
Head Pipe - Muzzy
Muffler - Muzzy (quiet core in possesion but not installed)
Drive Train:
Front - 14 (OEM)
Rear - 42 (OEM)
Carb Settings:
Pilot Jet - 40
Main Jet - 125
Needle - N1TC
Needle Setting - 2nd from top
Fuel/Air Mixture - 2.5 out (started at .25 turns, I believe this is why she runs so rich, will be screwing it back in to around 1 1/2 to 2)
Slide Mod - Drilled to 7/64ths
Performace:
Lean/Rich - Very rich (a little rich) The additional air from the open box brought the mixture closer to optimum but not there yet
Low End - Good (Excellent)
Mid Range - Good (Excellent)
High End - Poor (Excellent)
Starting - Acceptable (better)
Idle - Dies at my desired idle speed due to rich condition. (better but not there yet)
Acceleration - Better than stock (Much better than stock)
Deceleration - Never had any popping either way. Again, she is STILL a bit rich.
Additional Mods:
Crank Case - Drilled airbox hole to 7/16"
Smog - (Yes, No) - Removed but I need to make a cool block of plate, capped for now.
Cylinder - OEM
Fuel System - OEM
Ignition - OEM
Other:
Comments - Muzzy system is LOUD. I did not notice a whole lot of difference with the quiet core so, I left it out for now. My only complaint with this or any system is that it needs that 300+ kit. The bike MUST have the bite to match the bark.

RE: Mods & Jets
Configuration:
Bike / Rider - 2006 US KLX250S / Chris (aka cwgoff)
Elevation - 1000 ft.
Date - 15 SEP 2006
Intake:
Airbox - Snorkel removed (KDX200 snorkel backordered - will do double snork - both forward)
Filter - OEM
Exhaust:
Head Pipe - Muzzy
Muffler - Muzzy w/ QC & SA
Drive Train:
Front - 13 (Sunstar)
Rear - 42 (OEM)
Carb Settings:
Pilot Jet - 35 (OEM)
Main Jet - 128
Needle - N1TC
Needle Setting - 2nd from top
Fuel/Air Mixture - 2.5 out (stock was 1.33)
Slide Mod - Drilled to 7/64ths
Performace:
Lean/Rich - About right (may need a little more air, thus the dbl snorkel mod pending)
Low End - Between good and great
Mid Range - Great
High End - Between good and great (much, much better than stock - holds RPM on all but the steepest of hills when in 6th)
Starting - Great (has always been great - only 2-3 seconds on choke)
Idle - Perfect
Acceleration - Way better than stock
Deceleration - Just the slightest bit of pop sometimes. 98% of time zero pop. Even the 2% is faint.
Additional Mods:
Crank Case - Drilled airbox hole to 7/16"
Smog - (Yes, No) - Removed
Cylinder - OEM
Fuel System - OEM
Ignition - OEM

Comments - The bike revs to 8000-8500 very quickly. Would go past if I let it, but I don't unless by accident. Shift at 7000-7300. When cruising in 6th, the tach could be my speedo (i.e., 6000 @ 60, 7000 @ 70, etc.). The Muzzy is beautiful. Wonderful fit and finish. Highly recommend upgrading handguards to something that will be more useful. I broke my left handguard on the 2nd time the bike every laid over.
