Modding 2009 KLX250S, need advise
Just bought a 2009 KLX250S and want to wake it up a bit. My list of mods are:
FMF Q4 slip on
13T front sproket
remove snorkle
re-jet
I am going to order everything at once so what Keihn jets should I order with the above mods at 5000ft elevation? I was thinking of maybe a 125 main, but unsure of the needle and pilot. I would rather spend a couple of bucks on jets instead of $50.00 on a complete jet kit.

Boy, I don't know. I know it is more money getting a kit but you get an assortment of jets and you get a new needle as well. Not to mention the correct size bit for drilling the slide.
I would go that rout. Plus, in the future if you want to go big bore, you still have jets available in your kit that will work.
Other than that, get rid of your stock air filter and get some high flow one. You should be good to go then.

In the Dyno Jet kit you get a pretty good jet selection of main jets as well as a weaker spring for the slide to do alot the same as drilling the slide on the older models. As well as a needle and a bit to get to the pilot air screw. I'd also recommend a longer pilot screw like the kouba f/s2 so adjustment is easy once the carb is back on the bike. That and with the other changes you've mentiomed my bike is a different animal, not a screamer yet but much improved from where it was. If you off road more than on a bigger rear sprocket would help but I'm about 70/30 on road so I don't want to change it much if at all as it is still a good road bike for all but interstates as it is now.

I only ride on the road and the dynojet kit with a KDX snorkel brought this thing to life. I have the SF.
Still messing with the jets. Went to 124 first with new needle and slide spring. This brought me much low end and midrange.
Sunday I went to 128. A little better, but still the plug is white.
You can buy the jets one at a time or the DJ Kit.

The real question is which DJ kit do you get? Seems many folks think the 2009 kit isn't the right kit for the 2009. That confuses me. Also be warned that a DJ 125 main jet is different than a Kawasaki 125 is different than other jets.
I hate hate hate the OEM KLX cold bloodedness. Mine always starts with choke but you can't ride off for a few minutes without stalling.

DJ 2152 here also, installed per the stage 2 instructions with no problems, took about 3 hours and ran better than new when done. It really helped with the cold naturedness of my bike also. It comes off the choke alot quicker and runs well. I will say though that I installed my FMF slip-on before the DJ kit and it made more of a difference than the jetting did but I'm sure that it needed the jets as I have very little popping on decel now.
