Default Modded bike around Atlanta?

Just put the TBR exhaust on an otherwise stock bike. I'm not inclined to spend much on "performance" mods on this bike, as it'll never be fast or strong, until/unless I do the 351 mod down the road (Not that it'll be fast or strong, then...). However, I'd like to know what I'm missing. Then I'd know if it's worth the money and loss of fuel mileage/range. So, I'd love to ride a standard displacement bike w/all the airbox, air filter, jetting mods. Anybody interested in swapping a ride? I'll let you run a Versys 650 out w/me while I test your KLX. I'm around Winder/Hoschton/Braselton/Chateu Elan. Any takers? You just don't know 'til you try it...

If I were you I would just go ahead and do the mods. You are right in saying that it will never be a powerhouse but you would be surprised a what a few mods can do. Plus, the mods are pretty cheap and easy to install. You also get to know your bike inside and out.

With all my mods done I basically went from averaging about 90 miles on a tank before switching over to reserve to about 85 miles on a tank before switching over to reserve. Not a huge difference at all. It is way more fun to ride though.

Yeh, I've been through the mod. game many, many times. For most bikes, I always do it. For this one, I'm just not sure it's worth the effort and money. I'll end up modding it at some point. I just may not do it until it's got some time and miles on it, and I go all the way w/the 351 kit. OTOH, if it's only a couple of mpg, I'd probably go ahead w/the intake and jetting mods. It actually runs fine the way it is, for what I do w/it. I'm being a little stubborn; a little cheap; and a little wishy-washy. This bike is way out of character for me. So far, however, I'm having a blast w/it. I'd just like to ride a modded bike and know. If not, I'll get there sooner or later.

Thanks.

I really don't remember seeing anyone on here from the ATL area. Not everybody puts their location in their profile though. Good luck.

I'm out of town this weekend. Any chance you'd want to meet at Gainseville Motorsports, or wherever (NE GA Motorsports in Hoschton; Lawrenceville; wherever.), some time next week/weekend?
