Default Moab UT, 5/4 - 5/9

My wife and I just returned from an 11 day road trip to Moab, Sedona and the Grand Canyon. We hauled the bikes in the bed of the truck, and spent 5 days riding in Moab. The rest of the trip was mostly hiking and sightseeing (although we did a little riding in Sedona).

We are pretty mild on the types of trails we run. We did the La Sol Mountain Loop Road (paved), and found some trails off of that which we explored, we did the Gemini Bridges Road (twice), Bull Canyon, Sand Flats Road and Harrah Pass / Chicken Corners (we only did about half of Chicken Corners, turning around at a sandy wash that was more work than fun).

Here are some pics from our time in Moab:

Man, that looks like fun!!!

It's sad that Moab is a lot closer to where I live than where you do, and I've never been there (yet). I ***HAVE*** to get down that way sometime soon!

Thanks for sharing the pics with us...

I was there a month ago, and did some similar rides I think I recognize some of the locations in the pic. Thanks for sharing!

I'm relocating from Southern Nevada to a high mountain valley east of Ogden in a month. I can hardly wait to get up there and explore places such as Moab! Great scenery....

Did you paint the kawi yourself? It looks like a flat paint?

Yes, I painted it with Duplicolor spray-on bedliner. It was originally gloss black, but after a couple of lay-downs, it looked pretty rough. The gloss black was terrible for showing scratches. I'm really happy with the paint job. It has held up very well, and when it does get damaged it is very easy to touch up.

In person and cleaned up, it looks like a textured satin finish. In the pics, it looks flat because it is covered in a layer of Moab red dust...
