Mileage jump through time
So last night I went to get gas and when the I turned the key the dash flashed like a low battery (I knew the battery was getting towards needing a replacement) so instead of going for a long ride, back to the garage it went. Went into the city for a new battery from autozone (duralast gold) and got it all back together with no issues other then the mosquitoes. Fired right up like a fresh battery would but would I went to play with the clock, my overall mileage went from 19000ish to 30426 in 2 seconds. I have a picture from last Wednesday on my phone showing 18996 and now its showing 30426. I have no idea what happened but i tried unhooking the battery just now and the 30k is still showing. Is this something that can be reversed or should i just ignore the massive jump?

Something very simular happen to me while attending a 3 day rock music festival in the early 70's. I had a time lapse of 2 hours that to me seemed like 2 seconds. Scared the hell out of my then girlfriend. Like my experience, your predicament is just too weird. Why changing out a battery would cause a jump in mileage is beyond me.
On a more serious note, I hate mosquitoes.
Sorry all I can offer.
