How many miles/km do you have on your KLX?

Also, at what intervals have you had your valves checked and/or shimmed?

I'm at 750 miles on my '07 and no valve check yet.

You will know when your valves need doing 12,000km as per manual

Alot of people check their valves too often as they think valve clearance increases over time but it is the opposite.

Do your valves at 12,000kmand the bike will tell you when they need doing as it will be hard to start hot.

7600 and had the valves checked three times twice under other warranty issues, and they were always right in specs.

 

8250.... valves checked too many times....

 

2400 checked not a dam thing just ride ps oil change evry 700 miles.

 

5,000 had valves checked at 3,500 due to warranty issue

4300, no valve check yet. No signs I should.

 

6,000 miles mostly dirt/gravel and a couple of races
oils only been changed maybe 4or5 times
valves-never, I just ride it &fix it as it breaks.

deej- I just got a preasure washer; I might even clean it[:-]

 

850mi changed the oil at 250 probably should do it again. Lubed the chain need to re-do that too.
