Default Mikuni TM33

Anybody ever switch out the stock carb for the Mikuni TM33? I bought a new one for for my 94' dr350s from carb warehouse and am thinking about trying it on my 2009 klx250

It's been done. Try a search here on KF , plenty of info if you plug "TM33" into the search box.

TM36 fits way better than the TM33.

There's 2 routes you can go with the TM33. You can buy one from Bill Blue that's been bored oversize and fit with adapters front and back, and the throttle cable bracket has been chopped and rewelded, or you can do it all yourself. It's a pain in the butt to get the cable bracket right and you can only use your pull cable. The adapters have to be made in a lathe. And it can be fit without having to grind clearance on your frame, but it's hard to do. Things get tight in there.

Now these guys on here have discovered that a TM36 pops right in like it was meant to be there and you can use both cables. If I had to do it over again, I'd do the TM36. Seriously less screwing around.
