Default Mikuni 34

Hi all,
Just a note about Bill Blues Carby Mods, They are perfect, I got the carb from him a couple weeks ago and just installed on weekend - fitted perfectly, no mods requires- all up about half hour from go to wo. I connected fuel, 3 twists of the handle, 2 kicks and fired up - great.
Short ride up the back of my joint - unreal response, Bill you are a marvel and a thorough gentleman[sm=groupwave.gif][sm=icon_cheers.gif] Thanks for all you work and help
I have a couple of jeting issues, I have 37.5 pilot, 142.5 main
Smallest stutter on snap, and a little surge when holding constant at 5000 - 8000rpm
Do I need bigger pilot, smaller main, move needle - I'm not much of a mechanic but am learning.
Mods List Now
34 Pumper
Renthal bars
Crank case breather
No air box lid - Uni filter and sox
13/48 gearing
Bark busters
.44 front springs
Staintune Header
No But plug
Bigger pegs
No thermo fan
Bashplate

cheers hatto

Garry,

You might want to be prepared to go through the rejetting process. When I received my TM34 from Bill, it wasway toolean.

This isn't a slam against Bill as he has done great work, it's just that he didn't have my bike at my altitude to test it on. At the time, he tested the carb on his wife's bike which didn't have the same intake and exhaust mods.

G'Day Garry, I'm in Vincentia -down the south coast on Jervis Bay sea level.
My jetting is for a 300 with all the mods to open up not the 250 but I think I am a little rich, I thought I might get a few answers about the jetting but not yet
cheers Hatto

Thanks Hatto,

he goes away some weekends so that might be why the slow response.

Thanks also Dan, I am at sea levelthat's why I askedhattoanyway it's around half the price of getting this carb in Aussie WITHOUT Bill's mods to make it fit the KLX so I more than happy to buy a couple of jets if need be.

P.S. I also asked hatto because the air rotates in the opposite direction in Australia compaired to the usa and therefore makes our bikes develop more power than yours over there, something to do with the rotation of the air matching the intake direction better. [&:]

Cheers

Hello Hatto,

Went to Colorado to work on our property for a few days. When we got back I had lots of work weighting on me I guess thats the price you pay for playing. Will be going back to Colorado the 4 th. of july week to set up the 5 th. wheel trailer we areleaving on the property. Plan on doing some riding after the work is completed.
You might try putting the air box lid back on it seems that with the lid off it is to mutch air. Try a 140 or a 137.5 main. Did I send you a short pumper rod?
