Michelin winter tires
So I was checking out Craigslist and stumbled upon a set of Michelin studded tires about 15 miles from me for 300$ they retail for 500$+ I just had to have them. I was getting so depressed not being able to ride it's icy here and my stock tires are toast. A bit pricy for me but what the hell you only live once right? I'll have to give a report with pics soon cause I know someone will ask. Before I forget the sizes are 90/90-21 and 130/80-18.

Hope your not on the street, can be done, wouldn't advise it, used to stud up our own tires and go out and blow away the snowmobilers they thought we were nuts(we were of course). Just checked on my regular Canuck parts supplier they have one Trelleborg front for about $450 guess lots of guys got the itch. Be safe have fun and post pics.

Tires went on last night took me an hour to swap em out. I took a quick spin around the yard, they worked good but it takes some getting used to as I couldn't get past the feeling like I was going to crash. They do slide a bit.
Tonight I remembered to adjusted my chain, forgot to check the air pressure then went riding around my neighbors christmas tree farm with the guys. They were on sleds an old skidoo Safari 377 and a 95 Skidoo 670 (both need tune ups). The trails were compacted fluff on crust and ice. I was totally amazed that I could keep up with them and as I got past the feeling like I was going to crash I was actually tailgating them. I easily had it over 40mph on the straights I didn't care to look down after that. I did a few small jumps it stuck the landing like I was on dirt, climbing the one medium sized hill was easy as pie and bringing the rig to a hault was exceptable. Wheelies were not in the forecast I just spun.
That 130 rear with the added resistance of snow gave the lil guy a hard time so I'll be putting my 13t on tomorrow along with a quick psi check before heading out to the lake. Should be good riding out there I've been hearing sleds ripping around for a few days. I'll have to add to my report at that time.
Handling:
Pavement- Scary, Very scary (under 10mph max)
3" crust w/powder- Digs a bit at start or slow driving but powers through
Packed powder/crust- Slow start then hooks up good with sliding in corners
Ski ruts- throws you for a loop but theres enough traction to steer out of them.
overall- a bit wobbly but traction is there
Value:
Worth 500$ If you really really need to ride your bike or if your rich and don't need to care.
Worth 300$ If you want to toast your friends 500$ sled with a dirt bike.
Worthless- for bare ice frozen ground or pavement you will kill yourself.
