Default Metzeler 6 Day Extreme Tire !!!

Saw these DOT tires on the KTM 450 and 530 EXCs at the DC International Motorcycle Show. They look like they are even knarlier than the D606s and MT21s, especially the front tire. They are also the same size as I am running now.

Anyone have these on already or need tires soon ? I'd love to hear you're opinion. I have another year of tread left on mine but if they are that much better I may replace mine early.

Yeah, that's the tire set that came stock on my KTM. I liked them, both front and rear are good, no complaints.

Don't know about the tire, but don't buy them there.

Much cheaper here: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...x#&&Back=235-0

Ha ha , I guess if they only lasted him 5 days he could have complained.
I'm sure theyre named after the famous race, but to anyone that wasn't familiar with that race, it looks like a bad name. Kind of like back in the 70's Chevrolet had a hard time selling their new car, the Nova, in mexico. When they figured out that "no-va" means "won't go" in spanish, they changed the name of the car in Mexico.

I think the Michellin AC10s are looking pretty sweet, myself. They seem to be pretty affordable as well.

Yeah, Johnnyz found a better price which seems much better.

Right now I'm running a Pirelli Scorpion Pro on the Front (great tire!) and getting ready to spoon on a Metzler Unicross on the rear which will replace the Pirelli MT-16, also a great tire. I really liked the MT-16, but it is non-DOT and while I'm not worried about a ticket, I can see insurance denying a payout because I was running an illegal tire.

I've never tried the Unicross, but I bought it because the tread pattern was similar to the MT-16 and I liked it.

Anyone try the Cheng Shin 755 tires. 6 Ply casing and some really good recommendations from riders down here. Cheap too. $36.99 front 80/100-21, $55.99 rear 4.60-18

I only used that link cause they had the most complete description ! I use Motorcycle Superstore all the time.

As far as shredding the tires quick, I bet that has more to do with the torque of the KTM and how it was ridden.....I bet my stock 250 wouldn't stress them as much as I'm an intermediate ride. You know, the kind who stays ahead of the Hondas and is always behind the KTMs....hehehe.....
