Exclamation Maxxis Desert-IT M7304D, anyone used em?

As described above. Lookin' at some long dry miles and wanted any thoughts people have on these tyres.

Note the rear comes in a 110 section as well as a 120, any info' on the smaller size would be a bonus.

Hey Man, I use the IT, but not the desert version. Great tire...hooks up well and not bad on the street.

unless your pricky like some of us, then traction becomes more of an issue.

P.E. I've never thought you were "pricky", you seem pretty easy going to me.

Deej I think WOz already has a D606.

Gavin, so as to not completely hijack the post, I'll say it looks like a pretty tough tire. Open tread but not too open, harder compound sounds like it will hold up well on hard terrain and pavement.

I think I'm gonna look at a Kenda Parker DT rear (110/100-18) and a new Kenda Southwick II front (80/100-21.) I like the idea of 6 ply casings as opposed to 4 ply and I'm keen to try the lighter (by 1.5 LB) 110 section rear as opposed to the 120 section. Both tyres DOT.

A friend recommended the Kenda 777F front but being only 4 ply I'm not really interested. No one likes to fix flats!

Hmmm. Now lets see if the local dealer can come up with the goods. Perth, the most isolated capital city in the world. Don't we know it sometimes!

I ran a desert IT. I thought it was a pretty good tire. Wore better than a Trackmaster on the street and did well in the dirt. There was little to no chunking from it in the mostly rocky areas that we ride. I ran a 110.

I would still be riding one, but time ran out and I needed a tire for a ride and didn't have time to wait for one to get shipped.

Aren't all threads better with pics?
I don't have a Maxxis, but I hear they are made by Cheng Shin.
