Marcelin cam mod Poll
Can we get a head count on who has done it?
Really thinking of doing it to my bike this weekend. But still a little hesitant.
If you haven't done the mod please do not reply to this thread.

The ACR must be done by either rotating back to stock position on the shaft (or a touch advanced, as Marcelino did) or else removed entirely. I did mine with the repositioning/advancing. I don't really want to go without it.
Be sure not to just read Marcelino's 1st post, but study it closely. Several times.
If the ACR is left on the shaft as is and just the camshaft position changed, the bike will not start hot. 1st hand experience talking...

Otherwise, on Marcelino's original thread, page 20, post #198, I posted a detailed procedure on how I removed the ACR without a press. Not the preferred method I'll admit, but it works.
I haven't done a post about reinstallation of the ACR but in a nutshell, I used the big vise that I referred to in my the referenced post above. When you first go to press it back together, the ACR/shaft will try to "fold" a couple of times. To remedy that, just tap with a soft faced hammer to straighten it out while its under pressure and then continue pressing. It's a slow process to get it finally pressed together, but it will work.
Just make sure you research Marcelino's 1st post thoroughly before you do anything.
There has also been a post to a link to PlanetKLX about ACR removal. I know that Brewster has provided it and also one other KLX'er, but I can't recall who. It has very good info. It's also located somewhere in Marcelino's original thread but I can't remember where, exactly. Happy hunting!
Hope this is helpful.

KLX ACR mod
The two piece cam clamp doesn't need to be as elaborate as the one Pat made.
Take note of the two reliefs in the clamp to make sure that the tabs that hold the sprocket DO NOT touch the clamp.

I replied in the real poll thread. I removed the ACR like knasas-klx recomended. To re assemble, I warmed up the cam to 200* and cooled the ACR with CO2. then used a punch to drive it together with the cam gear off.
