I had this on my KLR650 and really liked them so I got some to put om my 09 KLX and when I cut the end off my throttle grip the handlebar is not hollow, there is a plug welded inside. Ayone have any ideas?

Edit: guess I need to get a hand tap and thread the inside of the bar?

Yup. A lot of people just went and replaced the bars as the stock ones are too low.

Check rockymountainatv.com for closeout deals on bars. I got mine for $15.

To answer your question: Yes, you cap thread the holes on the ends of the bars, that's what we did.

Man I want some fat bars... just slightly taller than stock, though.

My "Yup" was in response to your question about hand tapping.

There is a handlebar guide on the rockymountain site that's pretty good.

I have the YZ high bend and they are taller than stock. I think I could use a little taller. I am 6'.
