Lubing the throttle tube?

Lubing the throttle tube?
As dirty as the title sounds, I need some advice/expertise.
By throttle tube, I mean the enclosed housing area where the cables connect to the tube. It seems like this spot is causing a lot of friction for my throttle, making it not want to turn or snap back easily.
I checked the cables themselves, and while they could use some love they are still moving pretty freely. The throttle is also moving easily on the handlebar. I also tried to make sure the return cable (? I forgot the name) was balanced with the throttle cable. However, when I reassemble everything the throttle is not very smooth or easy to twist.
Is there some type of grease or other technique recommended to get that housing area moving smoothly again? I figured chain lube would gunk it all up.
Thanks!

Thanks for the responses!
I'm 95% sure I put it back together correctly... after some thinking and fiddling I determined that there is really only one way it will all go back together (without excess force...)
I think you are right about the bolts though, I definitely cranked on them. As soon as my grip glue dries I'll be back for round 2! (and I made sure to keep the glue far away from any moving throttle parts, so that's not it, haha)

You're right, I do need one of those cable lube packages.
Skub- Where did you get the aluminum throttle tube? I can't find one that is supposed to work with our bikes.
Westoz- That would be entirely too logical. I much prefer to bug the internet for answers
Anyways, I loosened the screws, then re-tightened them more evenly and 90% of my problem is gone. Thanks for the advice dudes!
