Lowering links question
#14
Ok, got my dog bones made up. One at 125mm centers and the other 130mm centers. They are 2" wide stock, that's all they had. I will have to check for interferences. Im just going to used them to see what size I need and then I will order a set of aluminum ones. I will update how they work out when I get a chance to try them out.

if you already made them with steel..might as well just use them....stronger than aluminum...

I bought my 07 KLX last fall as a non-runner basket case. At 5'7" I could barely swing my leg over the thing, so knew some lowering was in order!
I rebuilt my lower suspension linkage utilizing some 119.5 links from a 2009 KLX I had picked up off ehay. I was hoping that 2.5mm longer link would drop it at least an inch, at least that is what I read on some other forum. It dropped it a bit, but not nearly enough. I am guessing less than 1/2". Not enough.
So I ordered a set of 1-1/2" lowering links today. About $29 total. Anxiously awaiting delivery. I spent all winter re-building this bad boy bare frame/motor to finish, have never even ridden it yet. Getting awul itchy!

I have found spray on bedliner to be quite good for applications like that.
