Low Fuel Light on 2009 KLX 250s?

And the folks buying Cali models get "special" extras too (as in 20 extra lbs of smog crap, extra-lean jetting, and a catalytic converter). Woo hoo...
Trip ODO (#1) works great for keeping track of each fill. Of course, there's the other way... wait until it starts sputtering, then reach down and turn the fuel lever forward. I use that one a lot too...

Australian bikes don't have FI. According to the D-Tracker service manual, FI bikes are sold into the following markets -
BR Brazil
SEA Southeast Asia
EUR Europe
TH Thailand
IN Indonesia

I got the EFi in Asia (Thailand) & have a fuel warning light. Best I have had is 40km (25m) on reserve before finding a gas station with a worried look on my face! There was still some gas left swilling around in the tank Can't bring myself to running it dry for the real empty figure.....

Well - as owner of a '09 KLX250S I can report that Denmark also gets the FI model.
And the reserve light has it's own orange/yellow lamp - FI warning is red.
With ½ a paper clip in the plug by the clutch I get about 100-110 km before low fuel light goes on - AFAIR I've done up to 50 km before gassin up. We have 5-10 degrees C these days - will go up to about 130 km before lighting up that lamp in warm weather.
Which gives me something between 20 to 25 km/l for mostly city use.
First tankfull gave me 32-point-something - but that was when breaking it in ;o)
Bloody buggering thing is that when low fuel light goes on - the trip counter starts flashing something like "Lov Fuel" - which means that U have to press the "mode" button a coupple of times to see actual trip km's. Shortly after it starts flashing that stupid info.
I mean: low fuel light is pretty easy to see even in daylight - and I really would prefer to be able to keep track of distance when fuel gets low.
Btw - ar any of U aware of how "easy" it is to hit that "mode" buttom with gloves on ?
