Talking lost nut! 2009.

Just got back from exploring some powerlines. washing off the mud when i noticed that the nut on the dog bone link closet to motor was gone. sure am glad the whole bolt didn't slip out while i was out ridin. decided to go to auto-parts store, lucky they had a 12mm x 1.25 nut, and washer. also got a tube of locktite. now i'm back home checkin every nut and bolt!
Just over 1500mi. luvin every mile!

I never had that one come loose.

I have had quite a few missing or loose bolts though. Blue locktite will be your friend.

Hey thanks for posting. I just had the choke on my bike come unscrewed and pull out of the carb, I said I was going to go over my bike and check to see if everything was tight, but I haven't done it yet. This is more motivation. Loc-tite is a good idea.

I've had come loose, from what I can remember off the top of my head:
Right side foot peg mounting bolts(both of them at the same time)
2 or 3 different battery mounting bolts
chain guide bolt
at least one, maybe more radiator bolts
I know there was more also.

On a plus note, most of the bolts on the engine assy seem pretty tight.

I've had the shift lever bolt, Lower chain guide bolts and a few others come loose. Not sure which ones the dealer puts on but I bet they don't torque them properly.

I just hit the 10,000 mile mark last week and I have yet to find a loose nut anywhere on the bike...........unless you count me.

side case bolt.. evidenced by an oil leak from the spot where the loose bolt was located... the looseness of the bolt wasnt spotted till after i had purchased a new gasket XD
