Geez.. I am on a roll here

There is a small metal cover several 6mm bolts with 8mm heads , one phillips screw, and one 6mm nut with a 10mm head.
Which ever engineer decided on the one phillips screw deserves a flick to the Ding Ding... Mine stripped and cost me an additional 45 minutes of BS. Other than that is was pretty easy.

I'll replace is with a button head cap screw or just the flanged M6 like all the others (if there is room/clearence).

[QUOTE=SlapDrum;423564]

Tuesday I'll order the shift star.

Probably should order the gasket too. Getting that cover back on and seated right can be a hassle and there's a decent chance you'll #%*& up the gasket.

Looks like a pin is missing and one of the star points. I would not start the bike till all the pieces were found.

Thanks Deej.. How did you make the pic larger? Admin thing or just a learning thing for me?

Good idea, I'll keep fishing for the pin.
Thanks.

I saved the picture to my computer then hosted it on my photo bucket account and then uploaded to the site. Photo bucket auto re-sizes any picture bigger than 600X800 to that size. But I had to re-size it first.

No missing star point. That's the neutral indent. If that's a stock star, Kawi must have finally reshaped it to minimize the false neutrals and popping out of gear.

Ride on

The Star point is not missing but the D shaped Pin on the bottom Star leg is missing (broken off). The alignment pin is just hidden behind the Socket Head Cap Screw.

I'll fish around with a magnet inside the case and see if I can retrieve the broken "D" Shaped pin off the Star.

After lots of fishing around with a magnet I did not find any pin... So I went to the oil. I filtered it (thinking I shoul dhave done this first) but I found an alarming amount of metal shavings. This is 80% of it.

This is 800 x 600 lets see if it works size wise.
