Today I put a 47T rear on my KLX and kept the stock 14T front. I used a new O-ring 520 chain I had for my KX250 and removed 6 links and dialed the chain adjuster down to position #1. I am rejetted with a muzzy, de-smoged with a open air box. This bike has come alive. At 60 mph in 6th gear I am at 6,000 RPM's. I can pull the front wheel off the ground with little effort. I am lovin this bike more and more.

i agree with ironhorseguy the 14/47 works great for road and trail. working on that carb isn't much fun. i've done more than a few street and dirtbikes and that carb was just about the worst i've done yet. ask around before you do it to get an idea how to get it off the bike. don't ask me though cause i didn't ask around and ended up rejetting it with it still in the bike. didn't encounter any problems that way but like i said i've done it before.

Getting the carb off wasn't hard, I had it off in just a few minutes, getting the intake boot back on was a PITA. Spray a little WD40 on both openings of the boot and it will slide back into place a lot easier. Otherwise, getting the carb out and back in is pretty straight forward.
