Looking for chain replacement advice?

Looking for chain replacement advice?
This forum seems like a wealth of knowledge so I would like to draw from it if possible. I replaced my stock 42 tooth rear sprocket with a 43 tooth rear sprocket. I am happy with the modest performance gain but would like to add a new chain one or two links longer, I want to run the rear tire as far back as it will go and still be able to adjust the tension correctly.
What do I need to replace the stock chain (Chain Break/Rivet tool) and new chain I presume? Any thing I am missing.
Thanks

If you run a new chain "all the way back" you leave yourself no room for adjustment. The chain will stretch and you'll have nothing to adjust.

Yes, I am looking to run the rear wheel as far back as possible with the 43 tooth sprocket. What I mean by as far back as possible is with proper chain tension and a little room to adjust for the stretching of the new chain.

I'm assuming you want a longer chain for a bigger sprocket?

You can probably only add one tooth and still allow yourself some adjustment for the inevitable stretching that will occur.
Seems like a waste to swap out a perfectly good chain just to get an extra tooth, so that you can gain 3/8 of an inch in wheelbase length...
I know what you're going for, but it doesn't seem worth the $$$. Howcome you want to increase the wheelbase by that small amount?
