So day 2 only consisted of 35 miles (20 on dirt), but considering the 135 mile day it followed, now my butt is really sore.
Definitely need to look at seat options.
Guido, I have a windshield too, and it does help a lot on the pavement. I found it slightly annoying on the dirt though. We did one trail that had some pretty good bumps, dips, logs, etc to navigate, and I had to be careful to not hit my head on the windshield...

My wife and I did 135 miles today. Snohomish to Granite Falls via Machias Road, then the Mountain Loop Highway almost to Darrington, with a few diversions down some forest roads. Roughly 50 miles of the 135 was on dirt/gravel.
Had a blast, but my butt is sore. I need a better seat!
Bikes are loaded on the trailer now, we are hauling them up to Sumas to go riding with my son tomorrow...

The KLX did well on it's tour, about 450 miles in 2 days. I managed to hang in there on the freeway and cruised through the dirt and sand. I was fairly lightly loaded due to an unfortunate pannier melt-down (do not rely on your side panels to hold up a loaded pannier - get racks if you go that route) and I did notice some head-shake oscillations when I was carrying the weight, especially behind semis at 70 mph. We did almost 90 miles of interstate at 65-70 mph at one stretch and it wasn't bad. The windscreen helped. I was running 14/42 gearing and 15/42 would have been nice. I also used a bit of oil over the two days, down to the bottom of the sight glass. But all in all I was quite pleased with the little beast.
Here's a link to a ride report that one of the fellows on the trip put together. Scroll down, our tour starts about 5 pictures in:

Thanks to SgtMarty for all that. BTW, I am Gordon in his ride report.
