I read somewhere that a klx 300 clutch cable is longer that the 250.
Anyone have a part number or which year Klx 300 ?

 

Part number 54011-0009 is for a KLX300R clutch cable & is 2" longer than stock. I had to buy one when I fitted a bigger handlebar with risers!

 

How much are those cables and are there any mods or do they plug and play 100 percent? Another thing to consider before I buy new bars.

 

The KLX300R clutch cable fits perfectly & is plug n play, it was $10 from Kawasaki Thailand.....expect to pay more in the US!!

The throttle cables are pretty long & most big bars even with risers work ok (mine did), if your bars are really big then you can get got some extra length by re-routing them.

This handlebar simulator will give you a size comparison to look at. My bars are the fatbar (1 1/8 in (28.6mm) motard medium bend with 1.5inch riser clamps.....quite a bit higher & wider than stock setup & just required a 300R clutch cable. I could go an extra inch higher on the bars & still use the stock throttle cables IMO.
