Default Long time

No talk. So I got a new tire for my bike finally. Now I want to get more torque and power out of the bike. I don't really care about losing a little speed. I was thinking of going with a 13 in the front but I want to know if it will ride like a normal dirt bike or just make it slower. I want something to liven it up a little so I can at least pull the wheel up without so much body english. I have like 130 to spend. Can you guys help me with this one? I took the airbox lid off already.

Thanks,
Will

Hey Will where you been? I don't' even see you on Instant Messaging anymore. Are you mad at me?[8D] Hey get the 13 and the 45 and see what you think. It still has a lot of speed, but if you get into some technical stuff its nice to crawl if you need to. Good to hear from ya, and don't let so much time go by without checking in and that's an order Mr!

If you took the air box lid off you need to rejet the carb .....This bike is already very lean from the factory ......if you have $130 to spend you can lower the gearing and modify the stock exhaust and rejet....if you don't open the exhaust anything you do will not help....There are many posts on here about cheaper ways to do mods

How much do you lose off the top end from switching to 13/45 . If i ride mostly on road would it be better to only change one of them? thanks guys

step 1)) take your current front and rear sprocket teeth counts and divide the rear from the front.
step 2)) take your current top speed and divide it by the answer from step1
step 3))then divide the new rear from front and multiply it by the answer from step 2.

example

15/42 = .357
75mph/.357 = 210
13/42 = .310 , 210*.310 = 65mph

Hey Will, since the dropping the 13 or raising the 42 to a 45 is approx the same, I would change the back one. This will keep some sprocket noise down and probable some wear down, (this has been debated to death) And if you want some sort of in between choice, you can always leave the 14 on front and go up to say a 47 on the rear.
