Long Distance Touring on a KLX250s

Sounds like a cool endeavor. I'm thinking things that could break during a fall like shifter & levers. Throttle and clutch cables. Tire tubes. A spark plug. Oil filters and a spare air filter. There's a start...

Hmmm...spare parts for a trip from Alaska to Patagonia. I'd carry a KLR650...

Hmm... Make sure you install a fuel filter if getting dodgy fuel.
If you have bark busters, you would have to do something amazing to break the levers but then you have other issues.
Clutch and throttle cables I would pack. Might install a self lubrication kit for the chain. Pack assorted M6 screws and washers. I switched most of my screws on my bike to M6 Hex Caps so I can use the allen keys for everything.
And the usual toolkit, tyre levers, tyre patch kit, bicycle pump, cable ties, electrical tape and extra wire.
^ Was jotting ideas.

Agreed, but my KDX fell just right on a jutting rock and busted the clutch lever even with bark busters installed! Extra levers are easy to wire onto the bike somewhere.
