i have a 01 klx250 that im trying to sell. bought it with severly fu***d timing , fixed that but now i have a new problem. i ride on local trails every now and again to keep it lubed and make shure it hasnt rebroke itself. but just a few days ago i was on the trails and i came to a street that i had to stop at (heavy traffic) then about 1-2mins later i crossed the street and took off down the next stretch of trail. then once i hit third i gave it gas and it just died. didnt slow down or drop the revs it just stalls. i just pulled the clutch put in second and let the clutch back out and it started up fine. now this happens after about every stop. im 99% shure this is a dirty carb but was wondering if anyone has heard of this before and it was a more serious mech problem.

 

hmmm. the guy i bought it off of said it was an 01 klx250. ill look into it.

 

Is it a two or a four stroke? I know a stupid question but it gives us a direction to head.

 

Nevermind, if you've been riding it you know if its a two or a four otherwise you would have seized the motor already. My bad.

 

Sounds like the clutch "kill switch" to me. Easiest way to test it is to short it out and see if the bike cuts out.

 

okay..... it IS a 01klx250. how? turns out its austraillan. klx250H<== h means australlian.
