Default Little bit of windshield

I fab'd a little windshield and attached it to the UFO headlite. It's Lexan, but pretty thin, so if I was to hit it during a handlebar sword-fight or some sort of mis-control, it will bend off. Two screws with nyloc nuts, and a bead of clear silicone rubber, and it's on. I doubt it'll be noticable, but it's a little different from what the next bike has, so I'm good with that.

Looks good, but based on your 4th picture, I'd say "be careful" ... even if the Lexan is thin, its still strong edgewise.

I don't know how likely it is to happen, but if you were to fall face forward towards the crossbar, the mouthguard would protect your face, but the windshield looks like it could go right through your goggles. Or falling forward with a little more forward momentum, it could easily reach your neck. Nothing like that'sever happened to me, but I gotta think they sell crossbar pads for a reason.

Your design is unique and I like the look and everything, but I wouldn't want to hear that you got hurt because of it.

Y Guy, thanks for the cautions/ I rarely ride without the full coverage Arai. You can't make it out, but I did put a full radius along the edge.

And the whole thing might have to trimmed down a couple inches lower if I find it flutters or somehow is a bother at cruising speeds;65-70 mph.

That CeeBailey windshield in the background on my R1150R is so stiff, it'd knock your teeth right out if you conked your face on it.

thanks also for the cross bar pad reminder...I'm going to go cut some insulation off my air conditoner

How did you slide your forks up so far? I moved mine up 5/8" but no further because of the taper in the tubes. Do you have something to make up the space in the taper?

They are slid up about 1 7/8", and I have used the 2" lower bones in the back. Bill made up some very trick T6 aluminum shims that slide up between the forks and the triple clamps. I can get a full, tight purchase with all the bolts this way. JoAnn's bike has them also.
