Lic. plate clean up
I started the clean up of the Lic. plate setup. I use a scrap piece of stainless. The license plate light is not added yet but It will be soon.

Very nice! It's amazing how many of us are offended by the stock rear fender configuration. Kawi ought to take note for 2008. I'd like to see something like the Husky TE rear end on the stock KLX which is a more modern and stylish enduro style for street legal bikes:

I was looking for some other fender at the kawi store but nothing really looks like it will fit right?
I love the 450 style really well but it's a no go. I did look at a 07, they added stickers to the side
panels and the white headlight instead of green. Uglier yet!!! I do think a XR taillight would help
the looks a bit. I just have to work with what I have. The front with my new wheels and fender
will look about as good as anything else. (Supermoto fender) I have not order it yet.

RE: Lic. plate clean up
Here is the rear fender I got - I repurposed the stock tail light and blinkers with a couple of home made aluminum L brackets:
I liked my Wolfman tankbag so much, I've since added the Wolfman toolkit and it mounts about where the stock toolbag did behind the seat, however the Wolfman toolbag is lightyears ahead of the old one. Now I can move my tools from the tankbag to the rear fender enduro toolbag and save the tankbag for my other non-essential gizmos .

Do you think you can run the stock rack with that unit. I want to keep it just for the Pelican case and other reasons like that.
Does your side covers match up with the fender good? It looks like something I could work with it I could keep the rack.
I would cut the real frame off and weld on some different tubing for a cleaner look. That way I could weld it back on if I sold it.
Although I think I want to be buried with the bike if I have my way. I like the little squirt yearly well. Much more fun the my
2006 XR650 L. Although that one would wheelie way better. I get blowen around less on the freeway with this unit, then that one.
I think the wings on those things suck pretty bad!!!

There was no problem with the fender mating up to the seat section, nor the side panels - the KLX300R MX fender fits very nicely.

That looks good, but I like mine.
And I know I didn't blank out my license plate, but why, I mean it's not like I'll be waiting in the garage with this if anyone gets any wise ideas.
