[QUOTE=Geo Man Aussie in PA;550175]Here's my 2009 250S, already put Mark's Manual Cam Chain Tensioner on.
What are you doing with your old wheels?

Where we started and where we are....

The day we met....bone stock

After a 351 topend, kicker add, airbox delete and the shucking of all plastics.

Also slapped a dual headlight setup on, off of the discarded parts pile in my shop.

The intent here is a Wasteland Bike for Mad Max Adventures...

I think you succeeded
How does it handle with the fatties tires?
any problem with over heating running without the radiator shrouds?

Happy Motoring!

The fatties handle fine...if a tad loud. It's not as 'twitchy' as it was with Motard tires...but still flickable.
They may cost me a tiny bit of top speed...I seem to top out at 88mph on a quick run-up.
Haven't done a sustained speed test yet..mostly just bombing around locally.

No running hot issues...but I did add a override switch to the fan and pretty much run it constant once we get to operating temp.

My only complaint about any of the mods I've done (and it's very minor) is that the BB 351 seems to put a lil more strain on the starter motor.
I fixed that by jamming the kicker in there.

Hey @CaptMonster , as far as I know, your "build" is the first of its' kind - and TOTALLY SAWEET !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best looking build I've ever seen !!!

Creating a dedicated thread for your bike ( "CaptMonster's Mad Max KLX build" or some such title..) So that I (and probably many) can duplicate your bikes' appearance, can you give us a complete photo suite ( all sides ) and a rundown (list) of the parts and methods you used to create such a phenomenal KLX ?

Then get @deej to make your thread a forum "stickie" so everyone can find it easily !
