Nope, Texas is worse. Once you buy a bike in CA, it never gets inspected again, unless you get pulled over for something and tee-off the cop, then he takes a walk around your bike..

Default Thanks JasonFMX....

but just had the bike inspected at the end of September...As is...except for the rear fender and LED. Small signals (mounted to rack at the time) ,chain guard off (code states- to protect rider in normal position--loophole..countershaft guard suffices). I did put the other mirror on just in case, but I read the inspection code several times and I think you are OK with one. But as EMS said, it depends on who is inspecting. I went to a shop that I never visited before, its actually a custom bike shop, they took a good look, but didn't nit pick.

Here's a link to the PA Inspection code that I looked at.

Texas state inspection is really not that bad. Yes, you have to have it done once a year, but the requirements are not that stringent.

Hi/Low beam headlight. High beam indicator, brake and tail light, one mirror, and any type of horn. The brake light can be activated by either the front OR rear brake, don't need both. No blinkers needed. No chain guard needed. No speedometer.

When I first did my dual sport conversion on my XR650R, I used a clown/bulb horn for inspection. Passed just fine.

well, that was actually the foundation of my FYI to you... the other stuff was just pork barrel. Thats what I'd be most worried about. However, if all else is cool and thats the only problem then thats all you have to worry about. I'd say its worth the risk of getting ticketed because most likely you won't even get pulled over and if you do he's going to actually have to know about the specific laws and after that hes going to have to be in either a bad enough mood to ticket you or low on his quota to do so. May even get off with a warning.

Looks good though.

+1 on putting the stock lights back on. I choose life over being cool. So far I am both alive and cool.
