Leaving the forum bought a DR650
Guys, thanks for all the help and fun, but I needed to upgrade to a bigger bike. I'm riding with larger 500 800 and 1200 cc bike. I would have been fine keeping my 2009 KLX250SF but it's easier finding a new bike than finding new friends. Damn I love the KLX and I know it in and out by now. It's highly modified and someone will be stoked on it, only 9,000 miles. Moving to a DR650. I want to especially that KLXster for guiding me through the Lidless carb mod. Goodbye, my love. We had some great adventures. 1,000 miles in 3 days to Nevada on this old lady and she never let me down.

Enjoy the new bike! I just got a z650 for more road adventures and keeping the klx351 for adventures into the unknown. Klx is to much fun for the price and maintenance to let it go, but respect

Enjoy the DR. If it was about dual sporting I'd say keep the 250, but the road going changes things up. I have a KLX650 I rode for nearly 20 years for all riding. Then I got a 250 because we do dirt/gravel roads and have hit some off road with them and they're so much lighter and easier. But then I also have a street bike. We may ride street one day and be on the dual sports the next day. So it's worth it to me to have both.
I really liked the 650 on the street and better dirt/gravel roads. It allowed me to ride with my sport bike riding friends and stay close enough, especially in the turns. I still have the 650, but I think a rod is going out. Not sure what I want to do. I could part it out and do fine, but I hate to do that.
Either way, enjoy the 650 it will do well for what it sounds like you're doing.

Yeah I love the klx. Feels like a mountain bike in the woods. If it doesn't sell I'll probably keep it. My garage is pretty small though. I really sould get a 19" front wheel, "it's a supermoto" ,uprade the rear spring and put a 351 in it. That would be the ****e...

Hey ekim. It's hard to know what to tell a new owner. On one hand, you have a 25hp KLX via a Kawasaki Forum mod combo - which makes it rare and more valuable IMO..( You can drop my name but they won't know me unless/until they read in here.) On the other hand, some peeps want dead-stock bikes.
I sold mine without saying a word about its' performance or throwing in the "spare parts" .. At this point, I think that was a mistake.. I should have advertised it as a "one off" high performance KLX and asked more for it. IIRC, I did get a lot of money for it as it looked brand new. ( Yall may remember, I only bought the thing for my 16 yr old son - to drive to school on, etc... But "got bent" at the forum when I first realized, that over many years, no one in here had done the work to create and verify proper fueling on the most common sense mod combos, then dyno chart the proof/results. )
Guy calls me back a few months later wanting to know why "his/my" bike runs circles around his brothers' KLX. ..lol .. I figured "why not" .. So I "spilled the beans" regarding the details of "his/my" engine and mods.. We ended up creating a "lidless, full exhaust, non-MCM" bike for the brother..
If I were selling your bike, I would consider listing it as a 25hp high performance KLX 250 and ask a bit extra for it.
KLX 250 with 25hp performance kit, $6,000 firm ( lol)

I don't know if the spoke count is right, but you could probably get a good 19" wheel from a parted out motocrosser. MX bikes have run 19" rear wheels for at least a decade or more, need to make sure it has the right spoke count. I think it's probably 36 hole, the MX might be 32 or 36.

I may go lid less with mine in the near future to see how the klx300r performs with a few different size outlets. My 351 pills very hard but runs out of gearing fast with a 14/42 in Shinko 705. It def feels more fast bike rather then a tight woods but I’m loving it and not giving it up anytime soon with 25k miles currently

Trust me, you're gonna miss 6th gear.
I know. I rode a DRZ400 for 35k miles.
