Just a heads up for any of you that couldn't make it to the Leaf River Dual sport ride tomorrow Nov 1st. Near record amounts of rainfall this month have forced the rescheduling of the ride. It is now planned for 2 weeks from now (Nov 15th).
The ride follows a river bank (and crossed a creek last year). With high water and crops in the fields the club had to move it out
I just heard on the radio that because of the wet weather, only 15% of the corn crop in the area has been picked, usually by Nov 1st 80% has been picked.
Hopefully in two weeks the ground will be dried out ( probably frozen )
I'm glad they didn't just call it off, like they did for their enduro race last weekend. You now have time to save up the entry fee or come up with a new excuse LOL

10/30/09 Update:
The event has been postponed. For some reason mother nature doesn't want the club to have events this year it seems. We will try to run on the 15th. Please pass the word for us.
The dual sport will only be one loop this year. There are many crops that will still be in so we are limiting the event to one loop to limit the amount of crop damage. The loop should be around 25-30 miles and will be different then the Enduro. There will be parts that use the enduro trail but not the whole event. Again You will need lights mounted, no lights = no ride. It is the riders responsibility to be street legal.

bump. It's this Sunday!! Weather has been dry for a couple weeks, trails should be good, river should be down. The club has changed it's mind and is now going to allow a second lap for an additional $5. Great news as 30 miles is not enough.
