Default Late Sunday ride

Its been a long time since I posted any pictures of me going anywhere. All weekend I felt like crap! But Sunday afternoon I thought I would at least ride to the post office and check the mail since I hadn't done that on Saturday. Its a long commute...2 miles LOL and then it hit me that I haven't checked up on my Geocache in a couple of months. So I headed out of town 5 miles and up to "the spot"

This is awesome, nearing the end of September and we got a full blown Indian Summer going on here. Cool in the mornings and great all day. Look at the sky.

Reached the cache site, and took a few pictures.

I had my good camera with me, but for some reason I just used the Blackberry.

Grabbed the Geocache to see what was left. LOL

Looks pretty good still, and if I knew I was coming up here I would have brought some supplies to top it off. Oh well....next time.

I even have hand sanitizer in there. As some of you know I'm a clean freak.

So anyway, I decided to take the spur to the left, and ran into a fire pit/dump site/ party spot. And I found something in the pile that looked interesting. LOL

Its a Western Digital external Hard Drive. Not sure how long it had been there, but we haven't had much rain so I figured I would take it home and see if it powered up. This morning I brought it to work, to test since I have the same HD next to my laptop. I plugged in the power and the USB cable and the thing powered up, got a blue flashing ring and there was a "installing new hardware" message and a "ready to use" message. I could hear it spinning up, but it won't show up as anything in my list of drives. Not sure what's up with that.

Maybe when I get bored this winter I'll crack it open and take a look. Well that's all for now, I'm heading home, got a head cold, and the only reason I came in this morning was to check on the water system and to look at the calendar. I'm always anxious about Monday, but now I see that there is nothing pending for the facility. see you guys later. mmmmmm Nyquil..

Maybe you can access the drive through a DOS prompt/boot disk and re-format it or something.

Might be the disc controller (device the internal hard drive connects to) is out. The hard drive might still be good. I've had external HD's go out before, fixed them by buying a new external HD kit. Careful hooking that drive up to your primary machine.....never know what digital creepy crawlies are on there....

I'd Norton Anti Virus the hell outta that thing if it still works.

Nice picks Deej. - Thanks.

Also, that is the most well organized Cashe I have ever seen. I like the labels, maps, and hand sanitizer. Very cool. A real class act. I'll be adding the hand sanitizer to mine too

I like the case on the tail rack... That is a project I have had pending for... awhile now. But after seeing the photo I have a newly sparked interest.

Hope your feeling better.
