Default largest rear tire on '09 KLX250s?

anyone know if a 130/80 will have interference issues on the '09?

I'm thinking of a Michelin t-63 which doesn't come in a 90/series and I would like the keep the gearing higher if not the same.

Many thanks,
Pete

I'm running a 120/90 in the Dunlop 606... a 130/80 would probably fit, it'll be a miracle getting it on that rim, though. Do you seriously wanna put that big of a tire on this 249cc gutless machine? I could notice a loss of grunt when I put the Dunlop 606 on. I know its a heavy tire, but I'm considering going to a 110 when I order rubber next (and not the Dunlop 606).

I agree with Cliffsta. The 130 would be too much tire for the bike. I've been running
110's and they've been great. If you decide to go with a 130 let us know how the bikes acceleration is with it.

I third that. A 130 is too big for that little motor and believe it or not wider tires don't always hook up better. I'm running a 110 Pirelli MT-21 on the rear and for the most part it hooks up very well on the surfaces I'm riding on.

I've been running the 120 tire since I got the bike. I'm on my 4th back tire. And Cliffsta, you take that back. My bike is not gutless. You need to ride mine.

+1 on the 130 being overkill. I think the 120 is more than the bike needs. A 100 width is the recommended replacement, although I always run 110's.

120 606 is my flava at the moment. Spins up all the way up to 5th gear. 13/45 gearing. NOT GUTLESS D606 is proving a better tyre all round than the AC10, way more durable on the rocky trails. Super stiff 6 ply case , no punctures yet. That's how i like it.

I have a 120 Dunlop 606 on too, and zero complaints. Looks like the 130 would fit just fine, and I may give the 130 a go at my next change.

Well I'm just dissatisfied with the grip of the 606 tires all around. I guess I need more of a street-legal knobby than a dual-sport tire. I'm going to the Scorpion Pro out front and the Trackmaster2 in the back when I get new rubber (I need it... my tires are shot).
