You should thank Patrick (plameau) he has been on clark since he bought his bike. I have been talking to him very specifically on alot of issues. They made the tank to his specs, he asked for as much capacity as possible, and keeping all the stock parts. They made it exactly how he wanted them to...He said he even gets the first two made, he actually has 2 KLX's... I got the inside scoop on some other parts too..

Hey mooredan,
According to Patrick we should be able to use All stock parts. I assume this to mean that it includes the tank cap. We'll see? Normally Clarke supplies the cap as part of the package. But after many emails I guess I just don't know!

Im guessing we get a new gas cap, and the stock one wont fit on the clarke tank... Im guessing its gonna have one of thier "normal" caps on it. here isa pic from thier site.. kx500 tank.

Are you sure about this? I have the Acerbis and we only put a little over a half gallon of fuel in it and it is getting to the carb. You are suggesting you have 1.2 gallons stuck in the wings. That is not my experience at all.I LOVE the Acerbis tank. It fits the bike perfectly, the color matches, no shrouds to trim or replace and no fans to relocate or replace. It was a no brainer, simple bolt in, fits perfectly kind of installation.

I'm hating my Acerbis 3.7... I'll buy a Clarke tank and dump this hunk o junk anyday.
Turns out the 3.7 Acerbis only improved my overall capacity by .6 gallons, due to it's poor design.
Count me in.

I don't know if mine is shaped different or what, but it's pretty easy to see on mine that the wings hang way lower than the petcock entry tube. There is a huge volume of gas that will never flow uphill into the petcock on level ground. Just about an entire gallon (not 1.2). I get 2.8 usable gallons out of the advertised 3.7G capacity.
First piece of junk I've ever seen from Acerbis (I usually love their products, but this is just crap).
