Larger capacity fuel tanks
#11
I think I'm going with one of those gas cans too. I was going to buy the Clarke tank for my 07, but I read about them leaking at the fuel line fittings. Don't know if they ever fixed that or not, and I don't feel like paying $209 plus shipping to find out. Seems to me a gas can strapped to the rack solves the problem for a lot less money!

[quote=RaceGass;417591]Those plastic containers would be in the way for the wife to ride with Deej...
her feet wouldn't reach the pegs.
Yes that setup is definitely for the solo ride. That's why my wife has her own bike....although its been a year since she rode it.....

"Edit" button. My favorite button, next to the "quote" button.
You know, Bill Blue makes an Aux tank that take the space of the coolant overflow bottle. You can use the OEM tank as the Main tank and switch to the Aux for a 1 gallon Res tank. You get 3 gallons total without the hassle of trimming shrouds, losing cooling abilty, or binding cables. Just a relocation of a coolant bottle.

Trying to get on having to do an even higher hi karate kick to clear that fuel can isn't something the height challenged wife wants to handle. Afew whooped out trails and rewelding and gusseting the subframe from an extra gallon, read about that don't wanna do that.
Any Clarke owners wanna chime in?

I had a clarke, it leaked after 6 months, they asked for some photos- and then sent me a rma- had a new tank is a few weeks. It was a hassle but they stood behind it.
While waiting for the new tank- I put the stock tank back on. I really noticed a differance in the weight with-out the extra fuel.

Turn signals have tabs welded to the frame using the oem grommet.
I'd like to use those fancy ones but I'm sure the wife would get a ticket for non dot compliance. And you know who she would blame....
How long has that clarke been in use w/o leaking Dave? I'm waiting for aqualine or someone for the fi husky tank b/c that ims is a leaker
