Default Langston racing edge tail light

I just received the edge tail light from Langston Racing. It took a whole one day to get to me... 90 minute drive to lake elsinore but would cost more in gas than the shipping amount.

They have a great customer service dept.

A pic or two will follow if I don't turn it into swiss cheese from being all hyped up from pepsi cola and sugar playing that baja edge of control video game....jk

Just finished most of the job. Still have to fab a bracket to mount the turn signals, and tabs to widen the license plate bracket. The bracket in the kit isn't wide enough for a california plate?!? Japanese plates are narrower by about an inch.

The underside ribs need to be trimmed to sit on the subframe. blue/white wire=brake light, red/silver=tail light, black/yellow=ground. Lost a good pound of weight. Looks way better imo.

Its also not a edge tail light its a moto led tail light. No instructions but wire color codes. 55 bucks w/o tax or shipping.

The wife yawned.... didn't even notice. Now if i put a pair of shoes near it then yipeee!

That is a slick taillight. My dad has an Edge LED taillight and it looks sweet. IDK though, I don't mind our stock light on the 2009, it has an aggressive look to it.

our light looks ok, but than most. personally it the size of it that gets me, and i cant stop drooling over that tail light. what the part number, my bike is getting one of those for sure.

Part # D45-14-001 $55.95

Hardest part is deciding where to mount the turn signals.

Bike looks funny b/c its lowered for the wifey

I agree it looks good initially, but it doesn't fit the fender angles, plus you've got no turn signals and nowhere to mount them. That's okay in IA where they're not required, but some states require them. you can tell it was designed for the DRZ. I had an Edge 1 LED taillight on my DRZSM last year and it fit that bike perfectly (pics are posted here somewhere). The KLX needs a light that is triangular shaped like the stock one; only in a lower profile. Once the huge plastic piece is trimmed off the back and the plate is moved directly below it, the stock light isn't all that bad imo.
