laid the money down
Put $3900 down a few days ago and will pick up the Goblin (named by my significant other Lucy) next week when I get out of the hospital (where I work) I'll pick it up. The funny thing is that I've already got the Pelican 1200 and an auxillary gas tank to mount immediately in front of the Pelican case (only a 1 gallon tank in black plastic). Truly excited about Kaw. ownership but wish the weather would improve a bit!

thanks guys
believe it or not, it was this forum that push me over the edge. i mentioned earlier that i was considering the yamaha xt 225 but the zeal the owners here show lead me down the green path. I cant wait to start juking it up here and there but i'm a newbie in the modification stuff, like when you all talk about jetting-I would need serious pictures the bigger snorkel seems like it should be a simple plug and play, the Chinese tires I would need a part number? it seems only prudent to have a pair of tires put away though so i would like to get on that soon too.
one question on the Adel clamps (i'm thinking that is what they are called), the ones used to put the Pelican on the back....can you get them at Lowes/Home Depot/or an auto store?
as always thanks for any info.

Please, we will not accept any responsibility for that! [sm=happy046.gif]
Seriously, welcome aboard the KLX250, it's a great little bike.
By the "Chinese Tires" I think you mean the Cheng Shin? You can find them over at American Motorcycle Tire. They are found under "Dualsport", then "Cheng Shin" and finally C858.
Once again welcome aboard.
If you have never ridden before, I would strongly urge you to find an MSF school in your area and attend a Basic Rider Course. I am familiar with the course as I am an MSF RiderCoach. Great curriculum!

thanks Marty!
yepped ridden before, have some broken bones to prove it
just sold an xr650l, try to keep a dualsport on the back of my RV:

The big Honda mentioned above was too big for me to safely load on the carrier, and have been carrying the Trail 90 for over a year....but the Trail 90 with its whopping 7 horsepower doesnt meet my needs (Appalachian Trail section hiker of 34 years, I park the Trail 90 at one trail head, drive the RV to the other trail head, then hike back to the motorcycle, then drive back to the RV).....so that is why i started studying bigger dual sport and eventually got here, glad I did, everyone shares info so freely...my problem is that i've always owened motorcycles but never worked on them or tweeked them........
so again i ask about the clamps used to hold the Pelican case, where did everyone buy them?
Forgot to mention that I have had the motorcycle riders safety course and highly recommend it.

I bought mine at an ACE Hardware store, but you can find them at Home Depot and True Value Stores. Hey MedicineMan I really liked you're rig, I didn't know they made anything like that. Very cool. Is that a Chevy or GMC?

I used to dual-sport overnight (and sometimes just hike) on the AT years ago too -- now, I don't know of any sections anywhere near me that I can get a dual-sport onto -- most sections seem to be closed to any motorized stuff nowadays. Know of any near central MD?

Thanks for the compliments on the Tiger....its built by Provan in South Carolina, you choose the pickup...I chose Silvarado 3500 4x4, Duramax/Allison. You can do it on the extended cab or the crew cab...I'd seen small RVs that had diesel while backpacking in NZ two years ago and wanted something short/maneuverable but with the basics (I actually live out of it every other week!) so i chose the regular cab---knowing a motorcycle would always be hanging off the back....speaking of:
currently using the Versa haul but studying the Motojack...any thoughts on the Motojack?
Motorcycles on the Appalachian Trail---DONT DO IT, bad for the trail, foot travel only, the AT is legally a National Park, if they catch you you loose the bike and a big fine.
Thanks for where to get the clambs, we've got Ace and Home depot here so I should be good to go.
