Labor to install BB TM34 carb
I have a 2009 KLX250S with the BB351 kit, modified air box, FMF Q4 slip on, and jetted. I'm considering buying the BB TM34 carb, just a few questions:
1) This is not something I'm comfortable doing so if I have a mechanic do it here in Portland, OR area such as Cardenas about how much labor you think I would pay?
2) I do like to get on the freeway and cruise at 65mph from time to time, will this be the same with the TM34?
Thank you!

The engine rpm would be the same at 65mph with either carb, but the BB 34mm might get you there quicker..
I think the install itself is fairly easy. Someone who's done it will fill you in.

I guess you didn't wrench the 351 yourself. Changing the carb is pretty simple, I would estimate about .75-1.5 hours, some shops probably could give you their estimate if you talk to the service dept.
If the jetting isn't right, you'll have to have the carb pulled to change the jets. It becomes a labor intensive operation. If you think this is going to be an issue, you may consider just getting a dyno jet and forget about it. If your paying a shop to pull & reinstall the carb several times, the dyno jet is going to pay for itself fast.

I got the 33/34 BB, a lot of the others have the 36, it is cheaper & has an adj pumper. It really gives the low in a kick in the ***. I think for the $$ & work that is the best mod before the 351.
Do a thread search and you can read up on it. Or just look at any TNC comment.
