District 37 Dual Sport has succeeded in making LA-B-to-V the most famous and longest two-day Dual Sport ride in the world. This is the 29th year for the best 400 mile-plus dual sport ride of the year. This year’s tour will start the day after Thanksgiving, using creative routes chosen to Barstow and Las Vegas. Your gear bag will be transported from point-to-point each day. I did this on my KLX a couple of years ago. Let me give you one word of warning: COLD! It was below freezing starting out in the morning in Barstow. Also, make sure you have a good visor...or, use one of the cardboard visor-extenders with some tape when you take off the second day. You head right into the sun, and the dust can be a killer...put the two together and you can be riding blind without even being able to see the trail.
I have a couple of buddies doing it this year on some really small bikes. If forget if one is riding a 110cc bike, or something like that...trying for the award of smallest bike to complete the ride. If they go through that really long section of loose sand and whoops, I'd hate to be on that small of a bike. I kept my KLX wide open in 4th gear to make it through that section....it was tough on a small engine.
