You guys are making this way harder than it has to be... Just get some Krylon Fusion and paint what you want black then finish with some clear spray lacquer for a bit more sheen. I used it on my side panels, rear brake cover and my fork protectors. It's chipped a bit around the bolt holes on the side cover, but you can't see it unless you're looking for it.
These bikes are not collectible Barbie dolls or show bikes - at least mines not! And yes, I do care what my bike looks like, but then again... It's a bike to be ridden, not a showpiece.

Yep, Fusion 'molecularly bonds' to plastic. It is awesome, works great on Jeep fender flares (they fade white very quickly...not no more!). I also painted an awesome set of flames on my last Honda and the rocks and trees couldn't scrape that paint off. I think they have a gloss and semi-gloss.

Well, I had a littleextra time on my hands this weekend and put some black on the side panels. I have to say even with over 20 years in the business it was not easy stretching the vinyl on the compound curve in the middle of the plate. I am going to do a little graphic on the front and maybe some numbers or design on the black. I was thinking about a green swoosh with the KLX250S inside it would look good just under the seat. I'll play with it and post some more pics.

And where'd you get those cool brown side panels and fork protectors?
(EDIT: I don't know why I asked, because the answer is probably "Pittsburgh ... allaround Pittsburgh!" )

Those panels look very nice EvildoerZX10R. Do you think that us amatuers could put those on without mucking it up with bubbles and creases?
I assume that you can do other colors than black too?
