kx forks

None of them. The earier model KX was the closest fit, but still require adapters be made at a machine shop. Get in touch with 'Brewster' over at the Thumpertalk KLX/KLR forum. He can give you the low down. He might even make you some adapters if you talk to him nicely

By going with the years you specified, you could make it fit if you went with the KX front wheel, caliper, rotor, etc, but you would change the geometry unless you went with the length reduction spacers. If you want to retain the stock wheel, brakes, etc, axle bushings are needed.
Here's a quote from http://planetklx.org/techtips/kx-to-klx-forkswap.html
"The KLX300 and 1994 KX both use 43mm forks, measured on the outside diameter of the lower leg. And the diameters of the mounting areas of the KX forks are the same as the KLX. But the length of the forks is different, the axles are different diameters and mount differently in the forks. A KX axle and front wheel could be used, but to retain the stock KLX axle/wheel/caliper/rotor assembly, custom spacers to reduce the length of the forks and custom axle bushings are required."

Hey Guys,
Just a note to add, if you go over to www.ronayers.com they have a really cool reverse part # look up tool along with a complete set of microfiche that you can look through. What is cool is that it will list all of the bikes that a certain part is used on.
So you can look up what front axles, calipers, rotors, etc.. were used on all of the different bikes. A lot of the KX500 stuff is the same as the KLX300!
Hey Tremor, I was in Misawa last year and went to eat at that Cheese roll noodle place off base it was good!
