Is it possible to install the Kouba screw without removing the carb?

You need to at least loosen the carb and turn it sideways so you can get the old one out and new one in, there isn't enough room to get a screwdriver underneath the carb to remove the old screw while it is all bolted up in place.

Yes, all you need is a flat-head screw driver bit. You can hold it in your fingers and work out the stock one. I'm not sure if there will be enough clearance to get the new one in, but getting the old one out shouldn't be a problem.

The tricky bit is drilling out the plug that covers it.

Good call!

I have not tried it but you may be able to disconnect the cables, loosen the clamps on inlet & outlet then spin the carb enough to do the work.

If you take your time, you can remove the carb, work on it properly & in a clean area, then reassemble in about 3 hours or less.

I will be removing my carb to install DJ kit, so the plug will be removed, but I don't yet have the Kouba screw and considering I may install it in the future, if adjusting with a screwdriver bit is a pain. I picked up a KLX 300 full exhaust (thank you very much, Chris). It has the OEM butt plug and Chris included an aluminum replacement cap that is wide open (and looks trick). Do you think I would have to adjust fuel mixture if I switch between the two end caps? In addition to the 300 exhaust system, I'll have DJ 2152 kit, snorkel removed, UNI filter.

I recommend doing the mixture screw at the same time of the jet kit to re-leave some head ache. You will most likely have to adjust your mixture screw because no bike is the same and everyone lives at different altitudes. I actually had to take the carb out a second time after doing the jet kit because I had to adjust the clip on the needle.

Yeah, I looked at the spreadsheet and nobody matched my set-up. I'll add my settings once I get them dialed in.
