klx250sf tires and exhaust?
So I am looking to buy some new tires and maybe a slip on exhaust for my bike.
I was doing a little research on tires and found these tires: Shinko 244 Dual Sport Front - Rear Tire - Dirt Bike Motocross - Motorcycle Superstore
I have read people have have put the 3.00-17 in the front but have seen people do either the 4.60-17 or 5.10-17 in the rear.
The tire seems to have good reviews but not sure which tire would be best for the rear. Anyone else have any inputs on tires? I want a dual purpose tire, I commute about 50 miles a day for work but do like to do some trail riding when I can.
Also I kind of want to put a slip on exhaust on my bike but am not sure which one will be best for commuting due to noise.
Suggestions?

am i doing my calculations wrong?...stock is 110/70-17 front and 130/70-17 rear...about 4.33 width front and 5.12 width rear...i've gone bigger, but can you go that much smaller in width?...
and, if you commute involves high speed freeways, your stability will suffer at the higher speeds...when you hit dips, grooves or cracks on the highway, you'll feel it lot more...
i have shinko 705 150/70-17 rears...feels awesome commuting 70 mph ~ 85 mph....but, slower to leans and sluggish on the dirt...you can find deal on a set of s wheels from time to time....switch to sf rotors and rear sprocket and you have your weekend wheels for the dirt...but, please post pictures and updates to how the 3.00-17 in the front and 4.60-17 or 5.10-17 in the rear works out for you...

I would like to find a decent set of 130 tires to replace my IRC's when they wear out but nobody seems to make a decently priced sport tire in that size.

i currently have 120 on my front tire...we have wide smaller sf sumo wheels....that is why i'm asking if such narrow tires will even fit right on the sf wheels....
So a 4.6 would be about a 120 on the back, sounds about right. Thats what i put on my S rims when i was still using them, worked fine and the bike handled nice.

If I am not mistaken, the Shinko 244 does not come in a 3.00x17 size. Only 4.60 & 5.10 are available in 17" diameter which will fit on the front & rear respectively. The 5.10 on the rear wheel is a perfect fit but the 4.60 on the front is a little chunky; it definitely weights down the front a bit.

The link I posted at the top shows that they offer a 3.00-17
I also found ON supermotojunkies someone that has done the 3.00 in the front and 5.10 in the rear.

I'm mostly surprised that these tires are sold in "english" sizes rather than metric.

You're right 250sf09, there is a 244 available in 3.00-17. I was mistakenly thinking of the Shinko 700 which is more street oriented (70/30).
That 3.00 244 looks like an interesting option. I might give it a try myself next time I need rubber.
The pics don't clearly show how well the 3.00 tire fits on the front rim which also measures 3". I wonder if it leaves the rim exposed?
