Default KLX250sf tail kit ?

Hi all,

Just picked up my new KLX250sf yesterday, and I need to lose the long guard/tail on this bike, pronto !

Can anyone point me in the right direction, so that I don't make a mess of things with a hack saw? I've seen some pics on the net with it gone entirely. That's how I'd like it please.

If you have any links or pics that would be even better.

Thanks !

Do any of you guys know the difference between the Edge and Edge-2 kit?

As sold here?

http://www.wheelingcyclesupply.com/s...24/index.shtml

Are they directly fit on? Or is there a fair bit of modification?

Also I'm guessing I'll need the 601 Flashers, can someone confirm? So i don't order the wrong part.

Thanks in advance.

Remember, when you change the tail, there is a good chance any water or mud or whatever is going to spray all over you (your back). Maybe others can chime in but I *think* that is a byproduct of removing the factory tail.

Nah, I doubt it. Look at all the non road legal MX bikes and SuperMoto's. None have that nasty tail. It's only on road legal bikes for some countries that require large license plates, such as in the UK, and so that it can have a safety reflector.

Yes maybe it does prevent a litlte extra mud flicking back up, but, as I said, any real off-road dirt bike / supermoto is without, so it would'nt hinder performance in any form whatsoever !

here it is on a WR 250.... but you can do it to the edge 2 tailight kit for our bikes....
i think it is really cool cuz of the programable turn signals.
the brakelight strobe is VERY bright as well, my brother was riding his bicycle a mile down from our house and he saw the flashing of it... just sayin.

yeah looks very good !!! very tempted to get this instead of the 601 blinkers.. Only thing stopping me is the wife killing me !! Already spent 4k this weekend.. Now I wanna spend another $80 on the edge 2, and ANOTHER $80 on the pcb board.. I may just play it safe and get the 601's instead.

After all, I'll be needing many many more things in the not so distant future...

exhaust, 351 kit, carbs oh the list goes on..
