Exclamation klx250sf questions....

I just picked up a 09 klx250sf. I was wondering if I removed the airbox lid would it have any effect on the break in period. I have about 200 miles on it.

Also how many miles should I put on it before I can put full exhaust and jetting kit?

Also where are you guys buy parts for your klx250sf?
ordered a couple parts from wheelingcyclesupply.com

DO NOT take the airbox lid off without rejetting first...you will run LEAN

And go ahead and do the exhaust and jetting...i have 450 miles on mine and i have almost all the bolt-ons you can get for power.

If you want to deal with jetting in the easiest fashion consider installing the Dial-A-Jet enrichener circuit.

I've used one on my KLX650 compensating for cutting the air box lid, installing a big bore Vulcan 1500 piston, a full reverse cone exhaust system, going from sea level to 5000 feet, and running from 18 degrees F to about 100 degrees F without ever tearing the carb down for jetting changes. It compensates by using the vacuum created by lean conditions to draw gas/air mix into the throat of the carb.

I've had a number of fellow Yahoo KLX650 group members use it and a close friend put one on his Yamaha XT225 with great results. No one who's actually tried one will fault the results. Check it out.

It will compensate for the box lid now and a pipe later.

Break in period? You mean the under 4000 rpm's for so many miles....LOL ride it like you stole it, break in periods are just silly. The way that break in's are done correctly can be found on the mototune site. Click here. >>>>>>>>> LINK
