klx250sf guys TIRE?
So anyone out there replace the tires on your 250sf if so what did you go with? I ride nearly all pavement but have about 7 miles of dirt/gravel to get to my house
the stock tires did not like the loose stuff I had to really slow down to keep the rear wheel under me.
I thought maybe Avon Distanzia's but still unsure.

How many miles on your SF? I am nearing 5,000 and my rear is almost shot. I am going to replace it with a Battlaxe 045 dual compound because I wore the center out more than the sides. I commute to work 20 miles daily. Front is wearing about the same on the sides as center. I have been running 25 psi front and rear with really good luck.
I am all about pavement. Off road to me is the sidewalk or construction sites. I could care less about dirt, been there done that. What I need and what you need are different. The battleaxe has some tread compared to the true sport bike tires.
I went to the motorcycle super store and looked tires up by size. Not too many available for the rear. I can go 130 or 140 for the rear. I have not decided yet. I don't think a 120 will fit on the front. I have to do some close measuring.

Ive recently put a set of Pirelli Scorpion MT90's on my klx250s (not sf) and they are brilliant on road, work well on gravel but wont attempt anything tricky.
Not sure if they do them in SF sizes but worth a look.

Ill jump on this thread as I need to get a new front for the GF's SF. Has very low miles but from the get go it had vibration that I had thought was out of round rim. I dropped it off at a buddy's place to have him true the rim. He called me friday night to let me know its the tire with a flat spont not the rim. So I want to get a new tire for her. It woudl be 100% street but our roads suck and there is a bit of gravel once in a while. The two most important things I am looking for is good traction on wet/slick pavement and stability on rough road/gravel. Any suggestions.

one of the better tires out there as far as i know. killer traction, dual compound, not sure if those are the right sizes for this bike, im still uber new to sumo's.

My friend with a DRz400SM and my brother with his Buell Ulysses run the Avon Distanzias and really like them. They have large block tread which should wear fairly well on the road, but the block spacing makes them adequate for dirt/gravel and mild off roading. Worth a look.

I measured the space and a 140 should fit on the rear. The problem with anything bigger than that is the tire and rim will not have the proper profile, so you could loose handling and performance from a tire squished on a rim that is too narrow for the tire. I am on the fence about 130 or 140. A little more stability would not hurt my bike. Dunno.....
