klx250sf air filter and other mods

I was in the same boat last year... worked out great though; I ended up getting to plan my mods throughout the winter and ended up finding a decent deal on a used FMF when spring came.

Right now I have to be patient haha, I have too many bills I have to pay for before I think about buying anything else for my bike. I already chopped the rear fender down some and have new turn signals on order. I will post some pictures once I get them and I may even get the fender back on the bike

So true haha, I've been telling myself that I wanted to get these mods over the winter and now school and insurance are stealing all my money haha. It will happen soon, just gotta save up! :P

Alright, so my new turn signals came in yesterday, I have them mounted to the fender but now I am just trying to figure out... Is it even possible to remove the stock connector from the factory turn signal? I've been trying to pull the wires out of the connector using a pick but it doesn't seem to be working, I spaced grabbing my electrical connector tools from work but still can't figure out why they aren't coming off. Am I just trying too hard or do I actually have to splice the wires and solder? Also which wires are power and ground for the signals? Black with a yellow trace = ground and green = power? or is is the other way around? haha

Green should be ground (I think). If the bulbs are incandescent it will not matter any way.
Don't pull those clips all apart u'll have a mess lol, I just recommend clipping the turn signal connector from the signal after you remove it from the bike and soldering it on the bench; in this way you don't have to solder things in an odd position on the bike.

Yeah I gave up trying to remove the pins from the connectors, I ended up taking the factory bulb apart and i was able to remove the whole wire, the only issue is that the new light uses a different case for the wires so I am going to have to solder the new wires on. Before I actually solder them together, I'm going to plug them into my bike and see if it works.

I found out that the Black with Yellow trace is indeed the ground wire, so wired them accordingly to the new lights, tested it out and it works! Now to find my soldering gun :P
