Default Klx250sf 12 tooth sprocket Question

I was think of ordering a 12t front sprocket for my klx250. I'm looking for more torque. I mostly ride the twisties and a little highway.

Now for the questions

anyone running the 12t with 39t rear? How is it?
Should I keep the the 13t and add teeth to rear?

my mods already:

fmf powercore 4
fmf megabomb
airbox lid gone
dynojet 128 main
k&n airfilter

12/39! To much 'chain torque' for a 250
Add more to the rear. 13/45 combo works fore me and the gnarliest hills can still be climbed in second. First is strictly for compression runs back down the rocky rivers.

Yes....As West said, remember 1 down in front is the same as 3 up in the back. The smaller you go on the front will be harder on the chain, and also the chain will wear out the plastic pad faster on the swing arm. If you are running 13-42, then yes bump to a 45 or even a 47 on the rear. But remember too that you will lose top end rpm's. I have plenty of low end (especially considering I'm at 250 lbs) and at 60 down the highway I'm still under 7 grand. So at some point its a trade off. I personally still think that 13-45 is the perfect setup.

Also keep in mind you can not add torque by changing the sprocket

Only way to add torque is to add motor mods that increase the HP/Torque like exhaust, re-jetting, or big bore kits.

Good luck

go with the 351cc and a 15 tooth front, stock rear.
Plenty of power to chug in the woods and you gain a little top speed.
It really turns this bike into a thumper. best mod around, power to $$$ ratio.

i also found 13/45 is the best for trails and highway...cruising at 100kph is about 7k.

And the change up to the 14 tooth front adds a better highway option and takes little time.
